1930 REO photos for, HOT ROD EXPRESS
PHOTO BATCH 1) Top photo is the REO with
hood on. Second and third photo show custom side hinge. Fourth photo shows custom
top hinge. Hinges are stainless steel for no paint breakage. I fabricated the
hinges, and I have a little work to complete the right side hinge, which I will
do before transfer if you decide to take on the project. The hood side panels
were originally louvered. The custom hood side panels have doors with hinges.
Note: Wheels are for moving car only. Car has custom spoke wheels as shown
further below.
BATCH 2) Mock-up engine with
accessories.
BATCH 3) Fabrication of custom trunk
to house batter and A/C condenser and fan. Trunk has a lid that is not shown.
Fabrication and plumbing/wiring for trunk is complete. The louvered side of
trunk goes towards the body, the rest will be covered with leather.
BATCH 4) Seat pedestal houses A/C & heater unit. Unit controls are in custom consol. Fab, plumbing, and wiring are complete. Not shown are the custom seats (steel frames and springs, no padding or upholstery).
BATCH 5) Custom exhaust and gas
tank. Gas tank is not complete in photo but is now complete and tested.
BATCH 6) Trick wireless horn.
Fabrication work complete and tested.
BATCH 7) A few photos of
undercarriage wiring and plumbing. Note: The silver sleeves are samples of
‘dragon skin’ piping.
BATCH 9) Custom steel doors, roof,
and body. Windows have been installed to doors, tested, and removed. The door
interior panels, interior kick panels, interior quarter panels, pillar interior
panels, and headliner panels are complete but not covered. There is a dome
light. Revel panels have been fabricated, not painted but epoxy coated for rust
protection. Foundation for upholstery work is complete.
BATCH 10) Custom made park brake, completed and tested.
BATCH 11) Dash panel, fuse box, and
electrical wiring is installed and 90 percent complete.
BATCH 12) Custom back panel of auto
shows plumbing and wiring for A/C, Battery, and Accessories.
